Wow John & Christine - Christine & John . No matter how you turn it they are the best hosts of rentals we have had contact to so far.
Fair price , immediate response kind and precise .
Great location in the middle of the historic center of the beautiful city of Porto.
In the walking street, just across the house where Ernest Hemmingway lived for some time in the twenties,( now under renovation) I reach of all interesting locations within 1 km reach.
No charge for late arrival or a little delayed checkout and no extra fee for cleaning .
The building is beautiful and the apartment is a charm. A dream of a vacation rental.
And with the delicious odour from the cafe' just below where you can have waffles and coffee and ice ☕️
We had one of our best vacations in this fell good rental ⛪️
Best regards. Jie , Kurt , Thomas & Sofie
Most beautiful appartment in Porto! In the middle of the town with everything you need. Cristina, you should mention that there is a hairdryer :-).
Wonderful stay in Porto in great location !
We arrived at midnight and our hosts were already expecting us. They were extremely friendly and gave us very valuable information on the city. We felt very welcome in the apartment which we had rented for 11 days. The two rooms are spacious. The hallway is big and contains closets for belongings. The kitchenette contained all kinds of equipment which we did not use. But we used the electric water heater to prepare our morning tea which we enjoyed on the small balcony in the morning sun.
The location is absolutely excellent, 10 minutes from the Douro Ribeira, 15 minutes to Bolaho market. Just a couple of houses up the road is a small bistro serving wonderful little dishes of organic food.
A great big thank you to John and Christina. We will definately visit Porto again and this apartment will be our preferance for accomodation!
Great appartment in a central location!
Cristina & John are very nice and helpful people, giving lots of information at arrival. House in the middle of Porto old town (pedestrian zone), many nice shops, bars and restaurants in the neighborhood, very close to the river and many sightseeing spots. Don't bring a car, parking is difficult. Flat very clean and decent, well-equipped. Only one negative point: the ventilation of the downstairs restaurant is somewhat annoying, since it's close to the windows and runs half of the night.
Anyway: Thanks for the nice stay, we enjoyed Porto very much!
Wonderful hosts, both Cristina et her husband John. The directions to get to the apartment could not have been more accurate. Then during our 1st meeting they gave us very useful information on restaurants (which we visited and which were excellent). They also told us about a Fado dinner night, but when there was no Fado that night they looked for another place. We called immediately and booked the last table. It was fabulous! Many many thanks!
We stayed in Porto for a week and we really felt at home in this appartment. The kitchen was well equipped with all the tools you might need to cook a meal or make an espresso or tea. Christina and her family gave us a warm welcome, some advice about where to go and contacts to go surfing.
Even though during the day there was roadwork in front of the house, it did not bother us, since the appartement was located on the other side of the building. (Besides, the work seemed to progress quickly.) Instead we enjoyed waking up to the sounds of seagulls and church bells.
From the appartement you can easily walk the whole old town or simply use the close by public transportation to reach more dinstant locations. We strongly recommend trying it out for yourselves and have a great time experiencing Porto!
it was a very nice holiday in this nice, clean flat, with a great view to the cathedral, especially in the night. 5 minutes to the river and the center, 2 minutes to the bus to the beach. the hosts are very sympatic and helpful. we would book it again. thank you very much!!
We had a wonderful time in this large three-bedroom apartment. The
benevolent ribbon windows overlook the Parque da Cidade and the
Atlantic Ocean. The old fishing village Matosinhos with very good and
inexpensive restaurants is at walking distance. Matosinhos is the
hometown of Portugal’s most prominent modern-day architect: Álvaro
Siza Vieira. The village houses a couple of his early works, such as
the Boa Nova tea house and a swimming pool overlooking the sea at Leça
de Palmeira. But the metropolis of Porto is not far away. The metro
line takes less than half an hour to reach the city center with its
broad vistas, small alleys in the medieval town called Ribeira and its
wonderful bridges over the river Douro. Porto, a city to fall in love
